Hello from the National Office!

Thanks to Lana and Maria for setting aside some space for me in your newsletter – I love seeing the creativity and enthusiasm coming out of SFRM! As we look ahead to the next few months, I want to highlight a few opportunities y’all might enjoy:

Join Us at the Annual Gathering in Fort Worth
If your summer plans are still taking shape, I hope you’ll consider joining us at the Annual Gathering this July in Fort Worth. The Spark! program for kids aged 4-12 is a ton of fun, there’s awesome speaker sessions about topics ranging from nuclear physics to zombie media, tournaments and competitions, and a 24/7 games room. If you’ve never been to an AG before and you’re interested in learning more, let me know and I can give you a run down of what to expect!

Calling All Trivia Lovers: Form a CultureQuest Team
If you’re a teen who loves trivia, CultureQuest is a perfect challenge. Teams of two to five members test their knowledge against fellow Mensans nationwide. Forming a team through your local group is a fun way to build community and try something new together. Teens can compete as a “Culture Quest NextGen” team, and only the captain needs to be a Mensa member, so your non-member friends and siblings can join in, too. It costs $50 to register a team, and registration usually opens in mid-December.

Apply for the Mensa Honor Society
If you’re in 5th -12th grade and you’re active in your school and community, the Mensa Honor Society is a wonderful way to recognize character, service, and achievement. Applications are open year-round, and it’s a meaningful distinction for college and scholarship applications. If you remain in good standing through graduation, we’ll send you special Mensa Honor Society honor cords to wear with your regalia!

Share Your Book Reviews on Mensa for Kids
Finally, we’re looking for readers to share their thoughts! If you’ve finished a great book recently,
we want to know about it! We’re looking for:
● Book reviews (200-500 words)
● Video reviews (30-90 seconds)
● “If you liked this book, you’ll love…” recommendation lists
● Artwork! Illustrated scenes, alternate book covers, fan art, comics
● A playlist/book pairing

I hope you’ll check out any of these opportunities that sound fun, and if you’ve got ideas, questions, or something awesome you want to share, I’d love to hear from you! Drop me a line by emailing mollyb@americanmensa.org.
